Rowner Rec Swimming Pool



I learned to swim here, although it didn't look like this back then, probably for health and safety reasons...
Anyway I decided to revisit yesterday to take a few pictures and this is what I left with.
The Swimming pool shut down over 10 years ago, on wednesday the 23rd of May 2007 Fire Control was alerted to a fire in the early hours of the morning, a partial collapse of the roof took place which has allowed the growth of some plant life in the burned down bar area. The pool is also now home to a large number of pigeons, I even found a nest in one of the urinals.

Mr Singhs Birthday

A very happy 75th birthday to Mr Singh! A huge thank you to his family for offering me food and drink whilst I was working! =) Great fun to shoot and the first chance I had to try out my new jessops 360afd  flashgun! Very pleased with the results!

Uncle Alan

It has been FAR too long since my last update so my plan is to spend this evening and some of next week making updates. I thought I'd start with this photograph of my uncle taken at a family barbeque. I wanted to capture his facial features in detail and ended with this lovley profile shot.  

Cardiff

So Tuesday evening I caught the train up to Cardiff to visit the lovley Becky, portraits of whom can be found on an earlier page. I was only up there Tuesday night through to Wednesday night but from what I saw of it I loved! There was a shop that sold Sega Saturn games (I would live there if I could). Unfortuantley it did rain the whole time I was there up until the last half an hour before I had to get on a train! So the only Pictures I have are of wet streets at night! That being said I am quite pleased with them! :D

Double Exposure

This is a double exposure I did by layering two negatives in an enlarger in the darkroom. It took me a few goes to line them up properly and I printed one of them backwards in order to line up the eye with the mouth. I've decided to call himher... it  Jariah :D

Brighton 2010

A few pictures taken in Brighton on a college trip last year! We have just received a new project based around portraits. That combined with my new(ish) years resoloutuon of updating this blog at least once a week from this day means more to come soon!
